Dear Dr. Karmin, Mrs. Karmin, and Staff of Bellerose Animal Hospital,

I am sorry to tell you that Loretta passed away last night. She was sick for about three weeks, first refusing her vitamins and medications, then refusing her cookies, and finally refusing her food and water. I knew this meant her time was up so we agreed to have her final time at home with us where she would not be afraid and upset.

Loretta was a very special dog who had a good life with us and we had a good life too.

My husband and I believe that your hospital and caring staff made her quality of life exceptional. Thank you all.

Loretta is buried on Long Island.
