Pet Health Certificates for International Travel

Bellerose Animal Hospital is here to ease your stress when traveling with your pet. We have 2 full time veterinarians, who are USDA certified to provide the proper health certificate required for your international travel plans.

Documentation

Acquiring an International Health Certificate for your pet can be a lengthy process. We will perform the inspection/examination and complete the paperwork so you can obtain the certificate you need.

Whether you are going on vacation or relocating, you must obtain certification to bring your pets with you. APHIS, the Animal & Plant Health Inspection Service, is a Federal agency involved in documenting and approving your pet’s travel. International health certificates are completed by the APHIS accredited veterinarian who certifies animal health status, conducts tests, and records test results for the individual pet that will be transported.

Time Is of the Essence

As soon as you know you will be traveling internationally with your pet you should immediately contact the Airline you will be using to find out their requirements for pets. Each Airline can have a different protocol so you will need to have the correct information as soon as possible. The process of obtaining an International Health Certificate can take months.
